When we still lived in New Zealand, I had the honour of attending and photographing Lucy and Dave’s wedding.
Lucy teaches biology at the same secondary school where I taught chemistry. When she moved to NZ from the UK, we quickly became friends.
Lucy and Dave’s ceremony was held at local Langs Beach at low tide on a warm January morning.
Lucy made the invitations – loved the paua shell on them!
Dave has Scottish heritage, so the kilt is only fitting!
Waipu, a town near Langs Beach, also has strong Scottish roots, which meant it wasn’t that hard to find a piper to lead Lucy into the ceremony!
The ceremony was small, intimate, and beautiful.
Dave’s little nephew gave him a horseshoe for luck!
I have to give Cameron credit for this one with the fisheye – what an incredible setting, with the ocean and the cliffs!
Lucy was a stunning bride!
We drove up to a spot overlooking Bream Bay.
The car was pretty fantastic!
The reception was held in a friend’s backyard, overlooking the ocean. It was very casual and very fun!
Thanks for the opportunity to photograph your wedding. Miss you both!
