5 days. 46 hours. 3600 km.
An average of 5 stops per day at Tim Hortons’ shining beacons of toilet and coffee-based hope.
This is what’s involved in driving a car from Ottawa back to Calgary!
My friend Talitha flew out to Montreal to drive back with me. We drove some long long days across northern Ontario, which then required a little rest to visit some friends in small-town Saskatchewan!
It was fun to visit with Regan and Jason for the first time in three years, plus meeting their adorable little family! Plenty of coffee and good conversations were had, along with some hyper-competitive Dutch Blitz games.
We went out behind their house one evening to create a few family photos.
Regan and Jason have been married for 9 years now and they are still a spectacular match!
Phoebe is 4. She is a sweetheart who is very expressive and dramatic in her personality and mannerisms!
Ethan is 2, and he is a loving and energetic little boy.
Baby Pria just takes all the chaos in her family in stride. And sometimes with giggles!
These last two remind me of an article that was circulating on Facebook this week. The author encouraged moms to “get in the picture”.
I’m not a mother, but I understand the female thought process that goes something like: “I don’t want to be in the picture until I lose ten pounds and get a haircut and please oh please can somebody Photoshop those little wrinkles off my forehead?”
Regan, your kids are going to see how much you deeply love them. 10 years from now, and 50 years from now.
They will be so thankful and glad you got in the picture.
Thanks friends, for being super hospitable and super fun!
